11 Dec, Beijing:The Roll Back Malaria Partnership and China's Ministry of Health have announced today plans to closely collaborate on the implementation of the Global Malaria Action Plan (GMAP) for malaria control and elimination in Asia.
A major partner for development in Africa, China has already contributed to increasing malaria control competency in malaria endemic countries through the establishment of 30 malaria centers in 30 countries in Africa.
China is on the frontline of commodity production for malaria control and malaria elimination research.
Roll Back Malaria is a global health partnership currently supporting the mobilization of financial resources allowing countries to reach GMAP control and elimination targets.
Roll Back Malaria also tracks country progress in implementing roadmaps aiming to reach 2010-2015 targets; if roadmap slow-down is detected, corrective implementation support is made available.
Roll Back Malaria coordinates the worldwide joint 2010 year reporting on control, sustained control and elimination targets.
